I haven't tried it out yet, I just started the Insane Difficulty version and already got my ass handed to me on the first battle on Mandalia Plains, lol. It just seems to add the script from the PSP version, as well as some missing stuff from the Japanese version and the story books that were removed from the PSX and PSP versions. To answer your question, from what I have gathered, the PSP to PSX version does not add the cutscenes. You just can't link to the source games or console BIOSes or anything that is copyrighted and commercially distributed code. I believe our longstanding answer is that patches are fine, because patches don't constitute any sort of intellectual property infringement on their own. It's been a long time since anyone asked the question about what's allowed to be posted here.

That's pretty interesting - I wonder if it adds the cutscenes as well? I'd never heard of that patch that changes the PSX version fully to the PSP version. This post has been edited by Dynamic Threads on 28th May 2015 21:42 I guess what I'm wondering is if anyone has come across any of these or any hacks in general to make games less vanilla or more interesting after several playthroughs?ĮDIT: I also found out there is a Chrono Trigger patch as well! I'd post links but don't want to bend/break any rules until I get the OK. There is actually a website called insane difficulty that has patches/mods for quite a lot of FF games as well as Breath of Fire and Mega Man X and several other games. I think its currently at version 1.3 and it adds a "balance" to the game, as well as new enemies, encounters, etc. The main on that interests me is called the Insane Difficulty patch. This obviously requires Emulation, and a patching program to change the ISO file of the original game (which you can do LEGALLY if you own the game and rip it to your puter). One that even changes the PSX version into the PSP version. I recently discovered there are quite a few FFT hacks out there. If you don't know what a hack is, basically, people hack a game (older games, newer systems have become harder to hack/emulate) and re-write its data to make either their very own games out of them or add/change stuff. Hey, sorry if this is bad (I'm going to mention Emulators and ROMS) or been said before, but I recently discovered the world of game hacking.
